About Don MacDonell

Photograph of Don MacDonell, a Seoul based photographer, with his wife and Son.Hello to all who may be inquiring about me, my name is Don MacDonell. I’m from north of Toronto, Canada and I’m currently located in near Seoul, South Korea. I’ve been living with my wife and my young son here for the past 5 years. After coming to South Korea and began learning about a different people, culture and heritage I became extremely interested in photography. It was soon after coming here that I purchased my first DSLR and began making photographs. I’ve become extremely passionate about it. I enjoy different types of photography including landscape, portraits, and street photography. I’ve also been getting more into videography as well and hope to continue exploring it and learning more.

I have some major projects that I do regularly. For instance you may enjoy my Talk Photography projects. I originally created them on their own site, but have since moved the project as a part of this website. It’s a project with the goal of inspiring others, especially those newer to photography. I’ve collaborated with other photographers around the world to share encouragement, inspiring projects and photographs and share insights into different genres of photography. You can read more about this project and some of my future goals with this site here. I’m also happy to say this project will now feature video series with photographers.

Along with various personal photography in street photography, portraits among other photography, I will be working on a bigger project that I like to call The Photo Guide Book. For this project I will photograph and compile series of images, eventually into photo books and the like, of interesting places, tourist attractions, palaces, castles, parks, mountain ranges, cities, towns, etc. Starting with places I can easily access, and eventually to places all over the world. I will also make videos along the way which I will share on my YouTube Channel, and will create beautiful galleries and information on those places here on this site. I plan to eventually make prints and photo books of these destinations available through our store.

Thank you once again for your interest in me and my work and projects. I’m open to questions any time, or even a chat if you’re wanting to say hello.
